Yachting Australia Assessor Training Course
The Yachting Australia Instructor and Assessor Courses are conducted and recognised nationally and are applicable to all schemes. As such, a person seeking instructor / assessor endorsement for multiple schemes need only undertake the course once and would then undertake an assessment for each scheme (or part there of) for which they wish to gain their instructor or assessor endorsement.
Yachting Australia Instructor and Assessor Courses are organised by Yachting Australia in conjunction with the Member Yachting Associations (MYAs). Please contact your relevant MYA if you are interested in attending either of these courses or being assessed to achieve the outcomes of the courses.
Anyone who currently holds Yachting Australia Instructor qualifications will also have the opportunity to apply for recognition of their competencies through Recognition of Prior Learning. Click here for more information and the application form.
For those of you who currently hold Instructor qualifications, an Instructor Currency Policy and Procedure was introduced in 2006. In order for you to retain your Instructor qualification you need to make sure you meet the requirements as set out in this policy and procedure. For details on the Yachting Australia Currency Policy click here
The Yachting Australia Instructor Training Course is also recognised by the Australian Sports Commission through the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) and those who successfully complete will also receive recognition as an NCAS Yachting Australia Instructor. The NCAS also has developmental pathways for those who wish to progress in the area of coaching.
The links on this page to the Instructor and the Assessor Courses will give you more detail about the courses and the certification you can achieve.
